It seems like every decade has some major diet fads that reflect the current cultural values. 80s music and fashion were extreme, and their obsessions with single-food diets like the cabbage soup diet and grapefruit diet were no different.
The 1990s shifted to being mindful of macronutrients and were very strict because of all of the popular sugary snack foods being marketed to kids.
We don’t know what the diets of this new decade will look like, but if they’re anything like the diets of today they’ll be inspired by traditional eating and have a modern twist.
Backs to Basics
The paleo diet is a return to our roots that is based on the ‘discordance hypothesis’. This states that the eating habits that came from farming practices aren’t in line with human genetics, and our bodies are more suited for the hunter-gatherer diets of our ancient ancestors. The name itself comes from the Paleolithic era which started roughly 2.5 million years ago. Talk about old school.

Paleo is still young so we don’t have any data on long-term effects. The data we do have shows that you can safely and successfully create a paleo diet to lose weight meal plan. But it requires some careful consideration on your part.
